Nicholls State University head football coach Tim Rebowe is being recognized as one of the best coaches in all of the Football Championship Subdivision.
Rebowe was named a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Award, which goes annually to the Coach of the Year in the FCS, the classification Nicholls is in.
Rebowe is one of 18 other coaches to make the list. The coaches on the list were chosen by a panel of more than 150 experts around the country.
Rebowe led the Colonels to an 8-3 season and a bid in the FCS Playoffs. In his three seasons with the team, he’s completely changed the program. Nicholls was annually a bottom of the standings type of team before Rebowe’s arrival in Thibodaux.
Nicholls will try and keep their magical ride alive on Saturday against South Dakota in the opening round of the playoffs.
That game is set for 3 p.m. at John L. Guidry Stadium.
