Tickets are on sale for the second-annual Bayou Region Athletic Hall of Fame – a sports-themed banquet hosted by The Foundation for Terrebonne General Medical Center and the TGMC Community Sports Institute.
The annual event honors local great athletes from the past.
This year’s class will have six locals and the event will take place Friday, June 29 at Cypress Columns in Gray.
Tickets are $50/person and can be purchased online at www.TGMC.com/Events or by calling Paul Labat, the Director of the Foundation for TGMC at (985) 873-4603.
Proceeds from the banquet will support The Foundation for TGMC’s fundraiser to purchase a mobile medical clinic/blood mobile.
TGMC also wants to thank the generous support of Peoples Drug Store, which is this year’s presenting sponsor, as well as Cenac Marine, the Home Run Sponsor.
This year’s crop is special. It will feature the following inductees.
-South Lafourche High School, LSU and CFL star Ron Estay
-Terrebonne High, LSU and NFL star Earl Gros
-Central Lafourche High and LSU record-setting quarterback Tommy Hodson
-St. Francis High and MLB pitcher Harold Haydel
-Terrebonne High, UNO and MLB pitcher Wally Whitehurst
-Central Lafourche High and Nicholls basketball All-American Larry Wilson
Each honoree will earn a spot in the Bayou Region Athletic Wall of Fame, located in the TGMC Community Sports Institute.
