By The Numbers for Week 6 of the prep basketball season

7: South Lafourche guard Seth Borne has scored 20 or more points in seven games this season – a stat that places him among the area’s best offensive threats in 2016-17. Borne is also an elite closer, averaging close to eight points per game in the fourth quarter.

1: H.L. Bourgeois boys’ basketball showed its stature as one of the top teams in the state this past week, trumping New Iberia – a team which was previously the No. 1 ranked team in Louisiana for Class 5A.

28: The Terrebonne boys’ basketball team took its show on the road this week, taking on rival Vandebilt in a non-district game in the Smoothie King Center. The Tigers dominated, scoring a 28-point win over their rivals.

7: Thibodaux’s girls’ basketball team started the season slow, losing three of its first four games to open the year. But the Lady Tigers have since righted the ship and have won seven of its past eight games to earn power points in Class 5A.
