Earon John Poincot, 95, a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died at 8:04 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014.

Mr. Poincot was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. He was a vegetable farmer, a cattle farmer and was best known as the “Pumpkin Man from Bayou Blue.” Mr. Poincot was a member of The Cattlemen’s Association, a past chairman of the Bayou Blue Food and Fun Festival and was in charge of St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery for 25 years. He was a Terrebonne Parish school bus driver for 17 years. He helped many families start their new homes by installing sewer systems and digging ditches.

He is survived by his children, Judy Accardo, Lloyd (Belen) Sr., Donald (Deborah), Joan (Gary Sr.) Plaisance; 11 gandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.


Burial is at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin Funeral Home)
