When Oliver follows Kate home from school, he finds himself ensnared in the infinite improbabilities of Kate’s family. Her brother keeps slipping in and out of time while her uncle works on his Unifying Savior Principle. The family physician freely distributes psychopharmacology as the floodwaters of hormones, rampant capitalism and academic intrigue threaten to drown them all.
