“Arsenic and Old Lace” (Kenner)

Nov. 2-18, at the Rivertown Repertory Theatre, 325 Minor St., with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and on Sundays at 2:30 p.m. A pre-performance buffet catered by Messina’s is also available. Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors age 55 and up, and $10 for students ages 6-12. The buffet is $20 additional. What can possibly be in the cellar of two perfectly charming and innocent ladies? Try thinking the remains of socially and religiously “acceptable” roomers.

“Greater Tuna” (Baton Rouge)

“Bitter Sweet Chocolate” (Houma)

Nov. 8-18, at 7:30 p.m., except Sundays, which begin at 2 p.m. For more info: (985) 876-4278. The play fellows two friends – Cynthia and Amelia – and their relationship spanning half a century. It was the prize winner in Le Petit de Terrebonne’s 2006 writing competition for short plays.

“La Traviata” (Metairie)

Nov. 10 and 11, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday, at 1118 Clearview Parkway. Set in the period of Louis XIII, La Traviata shocked the world and was discussed all over Europe for its “attack on marriage and defense of free love.”

“Puccini’s II Trittico” (New Orleans)

The three masterful one-act operas will be revived by the New Orleans Opera Association. Includes “The Cloak,” “Sister Angelica” and “Johnny Schicchi.” All three tales of rage, devout faith and comic greed have been re-set in New Orleans locales.

“King Hedley II” (Baton Rouge)

The Sam & Jim Acting Co. presents “Topdog/Underdog” (Houma)

Nov. 27 through Dec. 2, at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more info: (985) 804-0658. Tickets are $15 or $10 for senior citizens, those under age 21 and all military personnel. The play chronicles the adult lives of two African-American brothers, Lincoln and Booth, as they cope with women, work, poverty, gambling, racism and their troubled upbringings. It had a successful run off-Broadway in 2001 with Don Cheadle and Jeffrey Wright in the lead roles.
