Grandparents Day Concert (Houma)

Sept. 9, at 3 p.m., at Houma Municipal Auditorium, 880 Verret St. The youth ages 6 to 15) of the South LA Community Orchestra will perform Vivaldi and Bach with the orchestra. Grandparents admitted free, and refreshments will be served after the concert.


General admission is $5. Advance tickets are $3, and are available at Fabregas Music Store.


Downtown Live After 5 (Houma)

Sept. 28, from 5 to 10 p.m., at the Courthouse in Downtown Houma. Velvet Sky performs at the free concert. Food and beverages will be sold. For more info: (985) 873-6408.


“Patriotic Library Concert” (Houma)

“Pops” Concert: “A Night at the Movies (Houma)

Sept. 22, at 6:30 p.m., at Southland Mall’s JC Penney Court, 5953 West Park Ave. The free concert will feature a variety of music including pop, big band and marches. It promises to be fun for music lovers of all ages. For more info: (985) 637-3894.

Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (Houma)

Sept. 30, from 3-5 p.m., at the Southdown Plantation House/The Terrebonne Museum, 1208 Museum Drive. A Kids’ interactive instrument zoo will be held from 2-2:45 p.m. Free admission for general seating. Bring your own chairs.

Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra: Symphony 101 (Baton Rouge)

Sept. 18, at 6 p.m., at the River Center Theatre, 275 South River Rd. Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes of an orchestra production.
