The Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center will host thousands of outdoors lovers this weekend – folks interested in learning about the latest and greatest innovations in campers and boats.

The Southern Louisiana Boat, Sport and RV show begins tomorrow at the civic center and will run through Sunday – a three-day event, which will feature all of the newest models and hottest brands in the world of outdoor retail.

Admission for the event is $8 for adults. Any child 15 or under with an accompanying adult can get in free.

Events and booths are set up throughout the civic center grounds, which are designed to give fun to people of all ages.

One such attraction is the Fish-O-Rama Rainbow Trout pond, which allows anglers to test out new techniques in a pond chalked full with fish.

Friday is family at the event, which means anyone 12 or under can fish the pond for free.

Also an attraction is the Whitetail Kings Collection, which showcases some of the largest, most beautiful racks ever harvested in the wild.

On the civic center floor, dozens of vendors representing virtually every major brand in boats and RVs will be on hand to pitch the industries newest products to customers.

Event organizers say the event is held annually in Houma, because per capita, more people own campers and boats here than any other place in the country.

The show hours are below.

Friday – noon – 8 p.m.

Saturday – 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Sunday – 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
