Rushing Media has grown from simply a local publication company into a full service marketing firm that is reimagining the way that business owners identify the problems that are keeping them from consistently increasing revenue. They have become experts in identifying the real goals businesses have, identifying the key things keeping them from achieving them, and finding the best solutions to not only meet, but also exceed those goals.

Brian Rushing, owner and publisher, is a second-generation marketing expert that has helped hundreds of local business owners overcome their own challenges to succeed in the market. He regularly sits down with business owners for strategic planning sessions for everything from launching a new business to taking a company with stagnant sales to the next level.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced over the years and how did you meet it?

“Like a lot of businesses, the downturn in the oil and gas industry hit us exceptionally hard. We tried to survive by making as many cuts as we could but finally realized that the way to make our business thrive again was to 10X our efforts and action from what we were doing. That mindset change has been the biggest driver of the incredible growth we are currently seeing in our company.”

What is on the horizon for you?

“2019 sees a lot of growth for Rushing Media and Reimagine Marketing. As part of our strategic planning earlier this quarter I set some seriously unreasonable goals for my team with the instruction that they bring enough ideas to double that growth. They rose to the challenge and far exceeded my expectations with plans to launch quite a few new projects for next year. I think the public will be pleased with what they see from us.”

Other than your phone, what is something you need to get through each workday?

“I start every day with a few minutes writing down my goals and listing five amazing things that happened yesterday and five awesome things I will make happen today. That daily ritual is the one thing that helps me be successful every day.”

What piece of advice do you share with your employees/coworkers regularly?

“Goals have to have concrete numbers and deadlines. If you can’t count it and check it off, it isn’t a goal; it’s just a wish list.”

How are you going to impact the Bayou Region in 2019?

“As a company, we have chosen not to participate in the recession going forward, and we are going to help as many local businesses as possible do the same.”
