Chauvin Brothers in southern Terrebonne Parish wants to give a good time this weekend to all of the local people who have been so loyal to the business over its long, lengthy existence.

The longstanding stalwart local business is set to hold a two-day community event, which will feature food, drinks, prizes and fun for everyone, beginning on Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and picking back up on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Chauvin Brothers is Terrebonne’s oldest business, dating back to the 1870s when it was a general store, which also sold goods in New Orleans’ French Market.

This event will celebrate the business’s rich history and also its new beginnings. Chauvin Brothers recently remodeled its interior, while tweaking its inventory to offer the latest and best in building products for its customers.

At the event, door prizes will be handed out, including drawings for New Orleans Saints tickets.

A live radio remote will also be held, featuring the staff at Gumbo 94.9 FM radio.

The weekend event is the icing on the cake of a celebratory month of April for the local business.

Throughout the month, Chauvin Brothers has offered free delivery on qualified purchases, as well as veteran’s and military discounts.

For more information about the event, call the local business at (985) 594-4166.
