A Montegut Middle School student is facing charges after he allegedly brought a large knife to school and threatened another student.

The juvenile male, age 14, who is not being named by authorities, allegedly started to threaten the student on the bus on Jan. 30, 2019, stating that he would bring a knife to school.

At that time, authorities were not yet notified of the incident.

On Jan. 31, the juvenile allegedly followed through on that threat, bringing a large kitchen knife on the bus. He then showed it to the student and said he was going to cut him with the knife.

Once at school, the student alerted school administration and TPSO was contacted.

TPSO arrived on the scene and arrested the juvenile, charging him with one count of terrorizing, aggravated assault and carrying a dangerous weapon by a student on school property.

He is being held at the Terrebonne Juvenile Detention facility.
