Three suspects are in the custody of the Houma Police Department for allegedly looting a vessel being stored during Hurricane Barry.

On Saturday at 12:06 p.m., the Houma Police Department received a call of a burglary at the Downtown Marina.

As officers arrived, the suspects were attempting to leave the area on foot.


Officers took located them and took them into custody without incident.

The suspects are identified as Dawn Baker, 24, Diamond Harold, 27, and Kenneth Benoit, 37.

As the investigation continued, authorities found Baker was in possession of a beer and a hand-held radio that was taken from the vessel.


Additionally, Baker was found to be in possession of marijuana and Harold was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Baker was booked with one count of looting and possession of marijuana.

Benoit was booked with one count of looting.


Harold was booked with one count of looting, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant for two counts of failure to appear.
