A 39-year-old Cut Off man was arrested last week after authorities found a variety of narcotics in his possession during a search of his home.

Last Thursday, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Agents made contact with Juanches Shelby, 39, of Cut Off, due to an outstanding warrant for his arrest on charges for distribution of methamphetamine. Upon contact, he was taken into custody.

But agents then executed a search warrant of Shelby’s residence in Cut Off and found a variety of illegal narcotics in the home, which leads to new charges.

Authorities found many of the drugs were packaged in a way commonly associated with the individual sale of narcotics.

Agents also located a large sum of money in the pockets of several items of clothing, as well as multiple cell phones. The suspect allegedly admitted the drugs were his.

Shelby was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on the above-mentioned warrant, as well as new charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, heroin and crack cocaine, as well as possession of marijuana, Tramadol, Hydrocodone and drug paraphernalia.

His bond is set at $135,800, but he is ineligible to post bond because of a hold by the Louisiana Probation and Parole Board for a parole violation.
