A 25-year-old Bayou Blue man is in the custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, accused of sexually abusing a girl under the age of 13.
Juvenile detectives recently opened an investigation into Marvin Salgado, 25, after learning of possible ongoing sexual abuse involving a child.
During the course of the investigation, authorities learned that Salgado had allegedly committed first-degree rape involving the juvenile.
Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Salgado was arrested on Friday and he is charged with first-degree rape.
He is held on a $500,000 bond.
Due to the nature of the allegations and the age of the victim, no further details can be released on this investigation.
