The Houma Police Department is looking for three suspects (two which have been identified as Houma teenagers) after they allegedly shot someone in the face while shooting into a crowd.

On Monday at around 5:15 p.m., HPD responded to the 900 block of Grinage Street in reference to a shooting. At the time of the shooting, officers outside of HPD heard the gun shots and responded rapidly.

A crime scene was located nearby in which multiple spent shell casings from a hand gun were located.

During the investigation, officers learned that several subjects were sitting outside a residence in that area when three males circled the block on foot, then returned moments later and opened fire on the crowd from behind a nearby building.

One victim was struck in the side of the face by a bullet while others took cover.

The suspects fled on foot, but were unable to be located at that time. Through eye witnesses and video surveillance recovered, two of the three suspects were positively identified, but they have yet to be located.

The suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If located, please call 911 or HPD.

The identified suspects are:

Neodrey Taplet, 18, wanted for attempted second-degree murder and 8 counts of LRS 14:27-30.1. His bond has been set at $1 million, when apprehended.

Keyron Simmons, 18, is wanted for principal to attempted second-degree murder and 8 counts of LRS 14:24/27-30.1.
