A carnival worker is accused of inappropriately touching two teenagers this weekend at the Hurricane Festival in Cut Off.

On Sunday, two females told authorities they were touched inappropriately in separate incidents by Cody Johnson, 20, of Kewanee, Illinois, a contracted worker by the company which provided rides and games to the Cut Off Youth Center’s Hurricane Festival this past weekend.

Both victims said Johnson touched them when he was supposed to be securing them on the ride. Authorities said Johnson also allegedly asked one of the girls about their age.

Authorities made contact with Johnson and questioned him about the incident. Following the interview, warrants were obtained for his arrest.

He was taken into custody on two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles.

Bond hasn’t been set.

COYC Director D’Lynn Boudreaux said the incident is unfortunate, but applauded LPSO for taking fast action to get it resolved.

“We sincerely appreciate the efforts of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office in this incident,” said Boudreaux. “Their diligence on this case lead to a quick arrest in what was an isolated incident involving this individual worker.”
