A Denham Springs man is in the custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office after he stole an electronic shopping cart from Walmart and took it to a local bar.

A TPSO deputy was dispatched at about 12:26 a.m. to the bar, located on Corporate Drive, in reference to a complaint that an individual had arrived driving the cart.

The deputy saw the cart parked between two cars in the bar’s parking lot.

The deputy then made contact with the security guard at the bar and then also with Brice Williams, 32, who was accused of driving it to the business.

During investigation, the deputy learned that Williams had claimed he was at a different bar and believed he could be charged with DWI if he drove his own vehicle, so he took the cart from Walmart.

Williams is charged with unauthorized use of a moveable – a felony.

Bond is set at $25,000.
