Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting incident in Thibodaux which resulted in property damage early Sunday morning. There were no injuries reported in the incident.

At around 1 a.m. on October 11, 2020, deputies responded to a call of a shooting in the 400 block of Frederick Drive in Thibodaux. Investigators learned a black Dodge Charger reportedly pulled up alongside another car and subjects inside the Charger began shooting. There was a woman inside the other car, and a man standing just outside the car. The rounds struck vehicles involved and near the incident, as well as a nearby residence, but no injuries were reported.

No arrests have been made yet in this incident. As this investigation continues, Sheriff Webre is asking for the public’s help on this case. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by phone at 1-800-743-7433 or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org. Tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers through the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office mobile app. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.

“There was such a blatant disregard for human life in this incident,” said Sheriff Webre. “Not only could the shooters have killed the victims they targeted, but there could have been innocent lives lost with this occurring in a residential neighborhood. I implore the public – anyone with information on this crime – to come forward to assist us in holding these people responsible for their actions.”
