Drugs, Counterfeit Money Recovered at Traffic Stop
On Saturday, February 22nd, 2020, Thibodaux Police Officer’s conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Silver Ford Mustang for an equipment violation near the intersection of Canal Boulevard & East 1st Street. During the stop, the driver identified as Gerrel Talbert was found to have three active Thibodaux City Court Traffic Warrants for his arrest.
Upon attempting to take Talbert into custody, he began resisting officers. After a brief struggle, Talbert was tased to gain compliance and successfully taken into custody without incident. Talbert was found to be in possession of three packs of Soboxone, 14 Counterfeit $100.00 Bills and 4 unidentified blue pills. A search of Talbert’s vehicle rendered the findings of 11 grams of suspected marijuana, 1 tablet of suspected Tramadol Hydrochloride & 1 tablet of suspected Dexmethylphenidate Hydrochloride.
Talbert was transported to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, where remains on a $22,650.00 bond.
