The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office found the gun that Christopher Grant was allegedly hiding.
He now faces additional charges in an incident that occurred on June 26.
On the above-listed date, authorities were called to Cut Off along La. Highway 3162 where Grant allegedly emerged from a vehicle in a driveway and started arguing with a man on a bike.
Grant reportedly threatened to shoot the man, then showed him a handgun tucked to his pants.
At that time, the victim flagged down a deputy who was passing to report the incident and Grant ran inside a residence, before deputies took him into custody.
Deputies found no weapons on Grant at the time of his arrest, but they obtained a search warrant and found more than 58 grams of synthetic marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax and Valium.
During the search, deputies also discovered a combination safe, which was also seized.
Authorities obtained a separate search warrant for the safe and that led them to finding a pistol and suspected cocaine, marijuana and Suboxone.
This led to deputies obtaining warrants for additional charges against Grant.
Grant was initially arrested on June 27 on charges of simple assault, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine and synthetic marijuana, as well as possession of Valium, Xanax and drug paraphernalia.
He also was booked on an active contempt of court warrant.
With the new discovery, he is now additionally charged with illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana (2nd offense) and possession of Suboxone.
His bond has increased to $105,000.
