Two Houma brothers were working in tandem in Lafourche Parish.

But their operation, authorities said, was a violation of the law.

Lafourche Drug Task Force agents were called on Jan. 13 to the home of Nicholas Chauvin, located at Sandy Lane in Houma.

The call was to execute two active warrants for Chauvin’s arrest for active warrants for distribution of methamphetamine.

Upon arrival, agents made contact with Chauvin outside the home, and he was taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, they also made contact with Nicholas Chauvin’s brother, Christian Chauvin.

After a search of the home, authorities said they found tools and items commonly associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.

At that time, Christian Chauvin was also taken into custody without incident.

Both brothers are charged with creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance.

In addition, Nicholas Chauvin is charged with the active warrants for distribution of methamphetamine.

Nicholas Chauvin’s bond has been set at $85,000.

Christian Chauvin’s bond is $50,000.
