From TPSO:

Sheriff Tim Soignet said that on Monday night, May 31, 2021, at approx. 10:30 p.m. Terrebonne Parish deputies and detectives responded to the apartments in the 6700 block of Alma St. in reference to multiple gunshots that struck the apartment.

Upon arrival at this location deputies made contact with two adult men and an adult woman who were the intended targets. The deputies were informed that prior to the shooting the estranged boyfriend of the woman went to the apartment and learned that one of the men who was there was a previous boyfriend of the woman. The suspect was identified as Kwan Allen. Allen supposedly made threats towards the woman and her acquaintance.

According to the information provided to the deputies, after Allen left the apartment the three occupants of the apartment went onto the balcony. While there Allen vehicle was seen parked in a nearby parking lot. There shortly afterwards, there were multiple shots fired and the three people ran into the apartment. Allen vehicle was then seen speeding off from the scene. There were not any injuries reported but the apartment building was struck multiple times.

Allen was later located on a traffic stop in the Thibodaux area. Allen was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Houma for questioning. Allen’s vehicle was towed to TPSO for further investigation.

Kwan Allen Jr., age 19, of Monarch Dr. Houma, La. was arrested for three counts of attempted second degree murder. Allen remains in the Terrebonne Parish Jail on a $500,000.00 bond.  This case remains under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to call Terrebonne Parish detectives, (985)876-2500.
