Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested a Houma woman in connection with multiple thefts from an employer’s accounts.

Sheriff Tim Soignet said detectives began a bank fraud investigation in early January, after receiving a complaint that accounts of the business were improperly used to deposit money in accounts of the employee, who was entrusted with managing finances.

Investigation revealed numerous unauthorized credit card and fraudulent bank account transactions were made.
The detective working the case arrested Mandy Brunet, 32, on Friday, Jan 15.

She was booked at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex for False Accounting, Bank Fraud, Computer Fraud, Illegal Transfer of Monetary Funds, Access Device Fraud and Counterfeiting/Forgery.
Bond was set at $40,000.

“As this case indicates, we have some talented detectives well-versed in the investigation of bank fraud and similar crimes,” Sheriff Soignet said. “In this case, as with others, full cooperation from the complainant made a huge difference in the ability of detectives to bring it to a rapid close.”
