Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced that a Houma woman has been arrested for theft from a private business at which she is employed. Leslie Joan Valure, 39, was charged with Felony Theft during the investigation.

On June 27th, a local business owner contacted the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office on suspicion that Valure, an employee, was responsible for stealing thousands of dollars from the business, over a 7-month period of her employment.  During the investigation, detectives learned that Valure was accessing a financial account of the business, in the form of written checks, which were later cashed at various locations throughout Terrebonne Parish.  Detectives discovered numerous checks, totaling over $23,000, written, and cashed by Valure.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Valure’s residence and discovered several items related to the financial account and checks cashed.

Valure was arrested and booked at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where she is jailed on a $75,000 bond.

ALL ARRESTED PERSONS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
