An 18-year-old Houma man is in custody of the city’s police department after he allegedly smashed the window to a business and tried to gain entry.

On June 3 at around 11 p.m., HPD was called to the 8800 block of Main Street in reference to a burglary in progress.

While responding, authorities said they were informed that a male was seen allegedly trying to smash the window to the business, trying to gain entry.

Upon arrival, HPD officers secured the exterior of the business and commanded the suspect to exit.

Shortly after, he did, and officers took Raymond Walker 18, of Isaac Street, into immediate custody.

He is charged with simple burglary.
