A teenager was murdered on Sunday after what authorities say was an altercation over a drug debt.

On Jan. 27, just before 6 p.m. the Houma Police was called to the 1100 block of Goode Street in reference to a report of shots fired.

While responding, officers learned that Philip Baker, 18, was shot and suffering from multiple wounds. Baker was taken to a local medical facility where he was later pronounced dead.

As the investigation continued, HPD learned the victim was at the park within the 1100 block of Goode Street and while there, an altercation took place between he and Richard Kenny, 19, over a debt for narcotics.

During the altercation, Johnathon Douglas, 19, and Trenden McGuire, 20, allegedly handed Kenny a weapon, which he then pointed at Baker and started firing at him.

HPD learned Baker took off running, but Kenny chased him, allegedly continuously shooting.

After investigation, HPD located McGuire on Lafayette Street and took him into custody.

He is charged with principle to second-degree murder.

HPD has also obtained warrants for Douglas on the same charges. He is still at-large.

Also at-large is Kenny, who is wanted on charges for second-degree murder.

Anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433.

Information which leads to an arrest may net a $1,000 cash reward.
