Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet said that a threatening statement made on social media yesterday resulted in a juvenile being for arrested felony offense.
On Thursday, Oct 28, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office received information about a post on Snapchat. This poster indicated that he/she intended to shoot some people at a local Junior High School. Detectives and School Resource Officers investigated this.
Investigators were able to establish a suspect in this incident. The potential suspect was a juvenile who attended the school. This suspect later confessed to creating a “fake account” and posting the threatening message to social media. The juvenile was arrested for Terrorizing. The juvenile was jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Justice Complex.
Terrorizing is a Felony offense in Louisiana. Sheriff Soignet understands the seriousness of this type of activity and says “With everything going on in the world, we can’t take these threats lightly. Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office conducts thorough investigations into all complaints of this nature.
