Two juveniles were taken into custody on Monday for allegedly having weapons in their possession outside of the Terrebonne football stadium.

On Oct. 15, a Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office detective was working security at the stadium for a football game when he was notified by a concerned citizen that two juveniles were outside with handguns.

The citizen, who was walking through the parking lot, leaving the game, saw the two juveniles placing handguns beneath a parked vehicle.

At this time, the juveniles noticed that they were being watched, so they picked up the guns and placed them in their front waist band of their pants, before getting on their bikes and riding through the parking lot toward West Tunnel Boulevard.

The adult then notified the detective working security and made him aware of the situation.

Shortly afterward, the juveniles walked through the ticket gate and were immediately spotted by the detective.

They were searched, but were no longer in possession of the handguns.

A parent of one of the juveniles was contacted at the football game and the investigation continued.

During investigation, the detective was led to the juvenile suspects’ bikes that were near the intersection of Stadium Drive and St. Charles next to a fence. The detective searched the bikes and recovered two CO2 Cartridge BB guns, a Lorcin .25 caliber handgun with the serial number scratched off and a pocket knife.

The 16-year-old juvenile suspect and a 13-year-old juvenile suspect were arrested for carrying a firearm by a non-student at school and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

During the arrest, the 13-year-old became violent with officers and is charged with resisting an officer.

Both suspects were taken to the Terrebonne Juvenile Justice Center where they were booked and jailed.
