An argument at a Raceland restaurant spilled over into a parking lot and allegedly ended with a woman getting stabbed in the hand and another getting charged with battery.

At around 7:40 p.m. on July 20, LPSO deputies were called to the Sugarland Shopping Center on La. Highway 1 in Raceland in reference to a call of a woman lying on the ground bleeding.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a woman in her 50s bleeding from a wound on her left hand.

Authorities said the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Through investigation at the scene, deputies said they learned that two women were involved in a verbal altercation inside a restaurant, which allegedly continued on into the parking lot and got physical.

Authorities said during the altercation, Patricia Arceneaux, 58, of Lockport, allegedly pulled a knife from her pocket and stabbed the victim in the hand.

She then entered her vehicle and fled the scene.

Authorities said they then made contact with Arceneaux and placed her under arrest.

She was taken to the Lafourche Parish Jail, charged with aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.

Her bond is set at $25,000.
