Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced this afternoon that he’s seeking public help in an investigation into copper that was recently stolen from a shipyard in Lockport.

Last week, deputies were called to a report of theft at a shipyard in Lockport.

Deputies learned that two rolls of copper welding cable had been stolen from a shipyard. The incident occurred at 9:47 p.m. on October 8, 2019 and was captured by a nearby surveillance camera.

The suspect, as captured on surveillance, appears to be a white male.

He was driving a gray Chevy or GMC pickup truck.

Deputies are now seeking the public’s help in this case. Anyone who may recognize the suspect or vehicle or anyone with any knowledge of this crime is asked to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by phone at 1-800-743-7433 or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org. Tips can also be submitted using the P3 Tips app on your mobile device. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.
