New HR Director resigns in Lafourche after 2 weeks on the job

Terrebonne Parish Chief Criminal Deputy Col. Terry Daigre, along with U.S. Attorney Peter G. Strasser and other officials announced today the results of a two-year investigation into methamphetamine and heroin trafficking that’s been occurring in Terrebonne Parish.
The latest in a series of arrests were done on Thursday in Schriever by TPSO Narcotics Division agents. In that incident, Earl Johnson was arrested and turned over to federal authorities.
TPSO says the operation involved more than $1 million in seized illegal drugs, as well as guns and cash. The federal warrant involving Johnson alone resulted in seizures of 5.2 pounds of methamphetamine, as well as packages various amounts of cocaine, 19.2 grams of crack cocaine, 13.9 grams of heroin and 13.7 grams of marijuana.
Other local defendants include Hakeam Drane and Spencer Rounds, both of Gray.
Col. Daigre said the arrests have made the area safer.
“There’s almost two years’ worth of investigation into this, there’s been a a lot of narcotics seized through various traffic stops, search warrants and other types of operation,” Col. Daigre said. “But all of that has resulted from a very intense and very detailed investigation conducted by our narcotics agent from Terrebonne Parish, Lafourche Parish, the Louisiana State Police and the DEA. It has affected mainly Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes. We have taken almost 90 pounds of methamphetamine off the street along with pounds of cocaine and heroin with other illegal narcotics. There have been several firearms taken off the street in this invesrtigation. It has been a collaborative investigation form the beginning and we are continuing forward. We are just to a point in this investigation where we are comfortable releasing details of it but we have more investigation to do. We are coming to somewhat of a close on this investigation but as in all large-scale investigations you have other investigations that spin off from it. We are in the beginning stages of that, we do expect there to be more state and federal level arrests made along with more evidence seized in reference to this.”
