A 24-year-old Bayou Blue man is in custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly fired shots at a home in Bayou Blue.

Around 3:35 a.m. on Tuesday, authorities responded to a report of multiple gunshots in the Meadowland Subdivision in Bayou Blue.

Upon arrival, deputies said they found several rounds had been fired at a woman’s residential trailer. One round struck the trailer and two others struck a camper that was parked on the property.

Authorities said no one was injured in the incident.

Through investigation, authorities learned that Jeremy Robinson, 24, of Bayou Blue, was at the trailer with a firearm – just minutes before the shooting.

Authorities confirmed he was searching for a man that frequents the residence with which he has an ongoing dispute.

The shooting allegedly occurred moments after Robinson left the residence.

Authorities met with the suspect on Tuesday and he gave them a statement. He allegedly admitted to firing rounds toward the trailer, but said he was doing so because someone was firing at him first.

Authorities found no evidence to support Robinson’s account of a shooter firing at him.

Robinson was taken to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked with aggravated criminal damage to property and illegal use of weapons.

His bond is set at $50,000.

Detectives say they’re still investigating the incident and more charges may be coming.
