A 19-year-old Houma woman was arrested over the weekend for allegedly striking her sister in the head with a vase.

On July 6, 2019 at approximately 1:10 p.m., Houma Police Department officers were called to a disturbance in the 600 block of Bond Street.

Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old female bleeding from the head after a disturbance.

Authorities learned that the victim had an argument with her sister, Markel Stove, 19, of Houma, and during the argument, the older sister picked up a glass vase and struck her little sister in the face. The blow caused a laceration to the victim’s forehead.

Stove was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated domestic abuse battery.

She was taken to the Terrebonne Parish Jail.
