LSP Auto Theft Investigation Leads to 16 Arrests, 18 Suspects Still Wanted

Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified 34 suspects who were found to have collectively transacted 180 vehicles using altered or fraudulent documents. 16 individuals have been arrested for the charges of Forgery, Filing False Public Records, and Felony Theft. Louisiana State Police has obtained full extradition arrest warrants for 18 suspects still at large (See attached graphic for suspects still at large).

Gibson man arrested for shooting, killing man

Terrebonne Parish Patrol Deputies responded to reports of a shooting on Vega Court, where they discovered a deceased male, who suffered from an apparent gunshot wound. The suspect, later identified as Benyamin William Walker, 20, of Gibson, fled the scene in a vehicle, before Deputies arrived.  Detectives were able to find the vehicle located at a business in Thibodaux, La.

Four teenagers, one 20 year old male arrested for multiple charges related to attempted murder, vehicular burglaries, auto thefts

Houma Police Department made several arrested for vehicular burglaries and auto thefts on the west side of Houma. Along with the burglaries, the investigators have linked the suspects to a shooting that occurred on East Street near Matthews Ct., on March 22, 2023.

Car plunges into bayou at Daigleville Bridge; Driver charged with 2nd DWI

This was a confusing one... While the Daigleville Bridge was Up (closed to vehicle traffic), Vehicle 1 crashed into the barricade bridge arm. While that driver was checking on their damage, Vehicle 2 decided to go around it and drove into the bayou. Driver of Vehicle 2, Jesus Garcia, tested more than double the legal limit of impairment. He was booked with 2nd DWI. Vehicle 1 fled the scene and is still unknown.
