A shooting occurred last night in downtown Houma at Suthon and Third Street. A member of the band performing on Main Street was struck by a stray bullet believed to be from that incident. The shooting is under investigation.

During the course of the investigation, Detectives learned that the abuse happened on at least two separate occasions, at a residence in Terrebonne Parish.

Zeringue admitted that while dating a woman a few years back, he watched pornographic videos with the woman’s child who was under the age of 13 at the time. Detectives also learned Zeringue had used a smartphone to record a video of the child changing clothes in the child’s bedroom.

Two masked men reportedly pointed guns at the two individuals and stole hundreds of dollars in cash from one of the victims.

Both men made initial contact with the teenager through a smartphone app designed for social networking and online dating.

LLPSO announced a Cut Off man arrested for sex crimes in May 2022 has been booked on new charges after new victims came forward. Ralph Cheramie Jr., 62, now faces charges for three separate females who were victimized between 12-20 years ago. One of the victims was under the age of 13 at the time of the incident.

The car was found abandoned in a wooded area nearby with minor damages and other missing items including a cell phone.

Houma Police Department responded to a report of child abuse at a West Houma School. The investigation revealed that Amanda Henderson was upset and intentionally burned the 5 year old child with a cigarette.

Agents located small amounts of heroin, fentanyl and diazepam, as well as several articles of drug paraphernalia.

After a long negotiation, the third suspect in Payne Street has been taken into custody.

Jhy Dupre is wanted for three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property

Woman arrested for charges of Simple Burglary and Possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, as well as additional unrelated charges.

Kennet Calderon Matus, 38, of Houma, was arrested for Third Degree Rape and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, in connection with the investigation.

The bodies were discovered shortly before noon on Sunday, April 30, inside a home in the 200 block of St. Peter Street in Houma.
