On October 8, 2023, shortly before 8:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash involving a pedestrian on Louisiana Highway 57 near Redmond Road. The crash claimed the life of 33-year-old Arturo Cruz-Tetzanquila of Houma. 

TPSO Patrol Division and Detectives are investigating the incident.

TPSO Detectives have arrested Jacob Luke Jr, 18, of Dulac, and Heather Luke, 37, of Chauvin, on multiple charges in connection with Friday's shooting that occurred at the Houma Sam’s Club.

Several shots were reportedly fired near Thibodaux High School on Friday night. Following the report of shots fired, there was a medical incident involving a student-athlete. This incident was unrelated to the reported shots.

A Purse Snatching incident was taking place in the parking lot of Sam’s when a good Samaritan attempted to intervene. As a result, the Samaritan was shot by the perpetrator, who fled the area on foot.

On September 27, 2023, shortly before 9:30 p.m., Thibodaux Police Officers responded to a local Alcohol Establishment in the 700 block of St. Mary Street (LA Hwy 1), in reference to an armed irate intoxicated subject threatening patrons inside the business. They have arrested Gregory Dirance on several charges.
