A pregnant woman is in custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office after she stolen items – including credit cards – from camps in Chauvin.

On June 4, 2017, TPSO deputies responded to the 7500 block of La. Highway 56 in Chauvin in reference to a call of burglaries.

During the investigation, authorities learned that a pregnant white female had stolen some items from beneath one of the camps in the area, then allegedly went inside another and stole credit cards.

Authorities said the credit cards were then used at a local business in the Houma area.

Authorities posted a photo of the alleged suspect on TPSO’s Facebook and authorities got multiple calls, which identified the woman as Megan Pearson, which led to charged being filed for two counts of simple burglary and unauthorized use of an access card.

Last Wednesday, TPSO located Pearson during a traffic stop, which occurred in the 2300 block of Coteau Road in Houma.

She was taken to the sheriff’s office for questioning and was subsequently arrested on the above-stated warrants.

During a search of Pearson, she was found to be in possession of suspected heroin and a syringe, which also led to charged of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Pearson remains in the Terrebonne Parish Jail on a $125,000 bond.

Authorities said the case is still being investigated and more charges are expected to follow.
