A Dulac man, who was already a registered sex offender, is now charged with possession of child porn.

Terrebonne Sheriff Jerry Larpenter and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry said that they’ve jointly arrested Joseph Verdin, 55, on Nov. 13.

He is charged with three counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.

The arrest was a result of a joint investigation by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office and Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.

“Child pornography is a dreadful crime that inflicts lifelong damage to the victims,” said General Landry. “So I applaud my office and our law enforcement partners for finding and arresting the despicable people who possess, distribute, and produce these horrific sexual abuse images and videos.”

Verdin was booked into Terrebonne Parish Jail, where he was additionally charged by the TPSO for failing to register as a sex offender.

“It angers me that we have people in our community who would possess this type of material,” Sheriff Larpenter said. “I am proud of our detectives and personnel from other agencies who worked hard to see that this person is off the streets and away from our children.”
