A 36-year-old woman is in custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office after she allegedly stole more than $20,000 from Brooke’s Sno-World.

Authorities were called to the local business recently on a suspicion of theft.

While investigating, authorities learned that Courtney Childress Hernandez, 36, had been working as the office manager of the local business and that in her position, she allegedly forged checks and used company credit cards to pay her own personal bills from Jan. 2017 – June 2017, running up more than $20,000 in alleged expenses.

On Tuesday, authorities contacted Hernandez and she agreed to surrender.

She is held on a $75,000 bond and is charged with theft of greater than $20,000.
