Suspect arrested after string of Lockport thefts and burglaries

A 29-year-old Lockport woman has been arrested for a string of burglaries and thefts in the town last week.


On October 24, 2019, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a string of crimes in the 5300 block of La. Highway 1 in Lockport.

Authorities said three vehicles had been burglarized and sets of keys were stolen from other vehicles. A wallet and several access cards were also taken, among other items.

Authorities identified Misty Kuramoto, 29, as a suspect in the case. She was later located and found to be in possession of some of the stolen items, which were later returned to their respective owners.


She was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Kuramoto was charged with three counts of Simple Burglary, two counts of Theft, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bail is set at $30,850.
