A 31-year-old Houma man is in custody of the Thibodaux Police Department after he allegedly pulled out a gun during a road rage incident.

On Nov. 22 at about 3:59 p.m., the Thibodaux Police Department responded to a dispute involving a firearm in the 600 block of North Canal Boulevard. Upon arriving, it was learned that Christopher Bourg, 31, of Houma, was attempting to flee the scene. A traffic stop was conducted with Bourg nearby, as officers attempted to sort out the dispute.

An investigation revealed that Bourg was attempting to reverse his vehicle after entering a one-way drive thru at a local business.

Bourg was unable to reverse, due to several vehicles behind him.

A verbal confrontation ensued between Bourg and other motorists. During that dispute, the suspect allegedly pulled a firearm and pointed it at one of the motorists. Bourg then attempted to flee the area by crossing the median that separated the two different drive thru lanes.

Bourg was arrested and taken to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm. He later posted a $5,000 bond.
