A 39-year-old suspect is in custody of the Houma Police Department for allegedly supplying drugs to several users who overdosed.

On June 26 at around 6 p.m., HPD responded to several calls of overdoes within a 10-15 minute span.

During that time, authorities were dispatched to the 100 block of Chateau Road where they located two victims suffering from symptoms related to an overdose.

First responders administered Narcan and both people were revived successfully.

HPD learned through investigation that a gold sedan, occupied by two females, dropped the victims off in that area and departed.

Shortly after, HPD responded to an accident at the intersection of Grand Caillou Road and Tunnel Boulevard involving a vehicle which also matched that description and a pickup truck.

During that investigation, HPD was able to get information that the gold colored sedan was the vehicle that dropped off the overdose victims at Chateau Road.

At this point, the two female occupants were found unresponsive – also displaying symptoms of a possible overdose.

Narcan was used by first responders and the females were revived and were taken t a medical facility to be treated.

As HPD investigated the two incidents, citizens in the parking lot of Walgreens, located at the intersection of Grand Caillou Road and Tunnel Boulevard notified law enforcement that a male was seen sitting in a vehicle unresponsive.

When law enforcement got to the scene, the man displayed symptoms of an overdose. At this point, authorities used Narcan and revived the man.

Authorities investigated all of the incidents and learned that Fentanyl was given to victims at 100 Chateau Road, as well as to the two females involved in the accident.

After investigation, HPD Narcotics investigators secured a search warrant for an apartment at Renate Lakes apartments and arrested Terrell Walker, 39, recovering more than 28 grams of Fentanyl, which was also in the presence of two children – ages 8 and 4 – who were on the scene.

HPD also recovered approximately $1,000 in cash.

The street value of the drugs is about $5,600 and the amount found was enough to give a fatal dose to about 14,000 people.

Walker is arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under 17. He was taken to the Terrebonne Parish Jail where he awaits bond.

The case is still under investigation and authorities are considering giving the female driver a charge of operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs.
