A Houma man is accused of fighting with his brother, then pulling a knife on his 73-year-old mother.

Authorities responded to 109 Muskrat Court in Houma at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sunday in reference to a disturbance.

Deputies arrived at the location and made contact with the complainant who advised that the suspect, Seth Roussell, 29, of 109 Muskrat Court, Houma and his brother, had been drinking alcoholic beverages when they started to fight.

During the fight, the suspect allegedly cut his brother on the hand with a large knife as the brother was trying to get away.

The victim went to Chabert Medical Center where he was treated for a non-life threatening laceration on his hand.

During the disturbance, Roussell’s 73-year-old mother was standing inside of the front door when the suspect allegedly kicked in the door, which hit her leaving a bruise to her forearm.

The suspect then entered the residence and threatened his mother with the knife, then allegedly proceeded to break plates, cabinets and pictures in the kitchen of the mobile home.

The mother locked herself inside of her bedroom, alerting authorities before a deputy arrived.

After investigation, authorities located Seth Russell and arrested him for cruelty to persons with infirmities, aggravated assault (domestic violence), aggravated second-degree battery and false imprisonment.

Roussell remains in the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $100,000 bond.
