Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced that he’s seeking public information that can lead to the arrest of a man wanted for allegedly stealing several hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise from a Mathews department store.

On March 25, 2018, deputies responded to a reported shoplifting incident at the Walmart Supercenter located at 4858 La. Highway 1 in Mathews.

According to store employees, the incident occurred the day before when a man took a shopping cart full of items.

The man arrived at the store at approximately 5:45 p.m. and left the business about an hour later with the merchandise, which is reported as being worth ‘several hundreds of dollars’.

The suspect is described as a white male with a medium/dark complexion. He has short hair and a beard. He has tattoos covering both forearms, a small tattoo over his right eye and a tattoo on the right side of his neck.

Surveillance photos captured him at the store (pictured in this story).

He was driving a white sedan with a sunroof and chrome-colored rims at the time of the incident. The vehicle did not have a license plate.

LPSO is eager to find the suspect in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433. Tipsters can remain anonymous and information leading to an arrest may net a $1,000 cash reward.
