A 42-year-old Morgan City man is in the custody of the Thibodaux Police Department after he allegedly made death threats to employees at a local nursing home.
On Aug. 17, TPD was called to a nursing home in the 100 block of Tiger Drive in reference to a report of an unknown male calling the business phone and stating lewd things to the staff, as well as making death threats to employees.
Officers arrived on the scene and learned that the unknown subject was calling from a blocked number. While officers were at the facility, he called again, making similar threats to the officer who answered the phone.
The caller told officers that he was at the location of the business, but refused to show himself, so TPD remained in the area while the investigation continued.
TPD arrived on the scene again later and learned that the suspect had contacted the facility in excess of 40 times from a blocked number.
Detectives were able to do a phone trace of the calls, which led them to a suspect that the phone in question was registered to.
Authorities learned that the phone being used belonged to Tremayne Skinner, 42, of Morgan City, and also that the suspect had a prior history of similar acts.
In Nov. 2014, Skinner was arrested for stalking after TPD conducted a similar investigation.
Due to that information, authorities knew Skinner's residential status. TPD worked with the Morgan City Police Department to get the suspect apprehended and taken into custody.
After obtaining warrants for terrorizing, TPD detectives and officers, along with MCPD, were able to make the arrest on August 17.
The suspect was found to be in possession of narcotics, as well, which led to charges in Morgan City.
In Lafourche, he's charged with terrorizing.
He remains in the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex on a $100,000 bond.
