On December 23, 2021, TPSO received a report of a stolen vehicle.

 

On December 24, 2021, the vehicle was seen traveling east on West Tunnel Blvd. Houma Police Department initiated a traffic stop, however  the driver failed to stop and began a pursuit. 


 

Terrebonne Parish deputies were near Thompson Road Ext. and Hwy 56, where deputies deployed spike strips (tire deflation device). The vehicle continued south on HWY 56 and later crashed into a ditch in the 4200 block. The driver and sole occupant exited the vehicle into a wooded area. They were not located but the driver was later identified as William Lala.

 

On December 25, 2021, Deputies were dispatched to 5885 Highway 311, Gulf Fish LLC, in reference to a stolen vehicle from that location.

 

On December 26, 2021, TPSO was notified that the vehicle was located on Wilson Ave., and was involved in a multi vehicle crash. Driver of the stolen vehicle ran from the scene shortly after the crash. William Lala was also identified as the driver in this incident.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Lala for 1 count of LRS 14:67.26 Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony) and another warrant is being sought for LRS 14:67.26 Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony). He also has outstanding narcotics related warrants.
