The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men on narcotics and weapons charges after a weekend traffic stop.
On Saturday night, TPSO’s K-9 Division conducted a traffic stop in reference to improper lane usage.
The vehicle stop was conducted in the 2100 block of Bayou Black Drive. The driver was identified as Reese Barker, 21, of Houma. His passenger was identified as Jordan Coose, 19, of Houma.
Upon making contact with officers, the suspects allegedly appeared nervous and the K-9 handler could smell the odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
Both suspects were then removed from the vehicle and they were pat-searched.
The K-9 was utilized to conduct an exterior sniff of the vehicle.
Coose was allegedly found to be concealing a loaded handgun in his pocket and two bags of marijuana in his groin area. The K-9 also showed a positive odor response to the vehicle, which resulted in a search.
Authorities located more than a quarter-pound of marijuana, almost an ounce of Crystal Meth, a digital scale and about $1,000 in cash.
Because of the findings, both suspects were taken into custody.
With the help of TPSO’s Narcotics Division, the investigation was furthered and a search warrant was obtained for Barker’s residence at 3902 Southdown Mandalay Road.
During that search, TPSO found about 3/4th’s of a pound of marijuana, assorted prescription pills and more than $11,000 in cash.
As a result of the investigation, Barker and Coose were arrested on the following charges.

2. Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana (2 counts).
3. Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.
4. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts).
5. Transactions Involving Drug Proceeds.
6. Possession of Xanax.
7. Possession of Legend Drug.

1. Illegal Carrying Of a Weapon.
2. Possession of a Firearm While In Possession of C.D.S.
