Thibodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced that the Thibodaux Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. this morning.

On Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at approximately 12:32 a.m., the Thibodaux Police Department responded to a shooting that took place in the 200 block of Sanders Street. When Police arrived, they discovered that a victim had been shot while traveling in a vehicle down the roadway. Due to the driver being struck several times, this caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and crash into multiple parked vehicles. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.

Thibodaux Police Detectives were called to the scene to process for evidentiary purposes. This investigation is ongoing and the Thibodaux Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has been working diligently, following every lead necessary to apprehend any and all responsible parties involved. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition. The victim’s identity will not be released at this time, in attempt to protect the integrity of the investigation.
