The Thibodaux Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place on Sunday afternoon in city limits.

At around 12:30 p.m., TPD received a call of a drive-by which took place in the 1300 block of Ledet Street.


When TPD arrived, they discovered that a victim had been shot in the upper arm. The victim, who sustained a non-life threatening injury, was taken to an out-of-town hospital for treatment.

TPD was called to the scene to process for evidentiary purposes. The investigation is ongoing and the TPD Criminal Investigations Division has been working diligently to try and follow every lead necessary to bring the person(s) responsible to justice.

Chief Bryan Zeringue asks the public to come forward with any information they may have regarding this incident. At this time, police are looking for a gray sedan style car occupied by a black male driver, which was last seen traveling northbound on Ledet Street.


The victim’s identity will not be released at this time, in attempt to protect the integrity of the investigation. As more information becomes available we will update the public accordingly.
