On Dec. 12, 2021, Sunday night, at approximately 10:00 p.m. Terrebonne Parish deputies responded to the 100 block of Williams Street, Houma, in reference to a domestic violence complaint. While deputies were en route to the scene they were informed that there were arrest warrants for the suspect, Christopher Bryant, for Domestic violence by strangulation for an unrelated matter.

Upon arrival at this location, deputies made contact with the female victim who is the companion of the suspect. There were obvious injuries to the victim’s face where she was allegedly struck by Bryant. During this altercation, deputies were informed that Bryant had also threatened the victim with a handgun before she ran out of the residence and called the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies announced their presence and requested Bryant to exit the residence in order to speak with them; however, he refused to answer and stayed hidden inside of the residence. Deputies then made entry into the mobile home and located Bryant hiding inside one of the bedrooms.

Bryant refused to cooperate with the deputies as they attempted to detain him. Bryant violently resisted and fought with the deputies who utilized a taser. At this point, Bryant became more violent and continued to fight with the deputies; therefore, the K-9 handler released his k-9 (dog) and Bryant still fought as he was bitten on his arms.

Bryant was then taken into custody and placed under arrest for Domestic abuse battery, resisting by force or violence, and for the Domestic violence arrest warrant. During the safety search of Bryant, deputies located Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth) in his pants pocket, and he was then charged with the illegal drugs as well.

Acadian Ambulance treated Bryant on scene before he was transported to a local hospital.

After Christopher Bryant, age 36, 139 Williams St. Houma, was released from the hospital he was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Annex where he was booked and jailed. Bryant remains in jail on a $35,000.00 bond.
